Foothill Transition Program
The Foothill Transition Program (FTP), started in 2001 at Foothill College, involves students with disabilities in an active college atmosphere and prepares them for independent living by the age of twenty-two.

Students who have completed their senior year of high school may enroll in general college courses at Foothill and are assisted by aides. They are encouraged to take physical education classes and participate in FTP's transition-to-work program. Each student receives vocational training, usually at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Palo Alto. Once students are able to work independently, FTP helps them secure employment.
