The Board and Superintendent will discuss issues and planning for the coming school year.  Rene Townsend will facilitate.  Cabinet members will participate in the afternoon session.

A.

Second Amendment to Lease Agreement for the Garland Site between Palo Alto Unified School District and Stratford School, Inc., a California Corporation

Discussion

The Board will discuss the possibility of rescinding the termination notice issued on November 20, 2007, due to slowing enrollment growth, flexibility on elementary class size, and to save revenue losses during this economic slowdown.  Action will be considered at the August 25, 2009, regular meeting.

 

 

 

B.

Resolution 2009-10.01 - Authorizing the Completion and Submission of an Application for Qualified School Construction Bond Allocation from the California Department of Education

The Board will discuss adopting the resolution which allows the district to apply for a bond allocation from the California Department of California.  This is a lottery process with results to be announced on August 28.  The Board will be asked to waive its two meeting rule in order to meeting the application deadline of August 25, 2009.

Establishment of Tax Rate for District Bonds for the 2009-10 Fiscal Year

The Board will discuss setting the rate for the June 3, 2008, bonds. Action will be considered at the August 25, 2009, regular meeting.
