PALO ALTO, CA –Public Forums scheduled for February 27, 2007, have been changed to two evenings, March 12 and March 13, 2007.
The Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) Board of Education has begun the process for selecting a new district superintendent. Community input about the desired characteristics to be used in recruiting and selecting this person is desired. The Board is soliciting input to respond to the prompt: “What personal and professional qualities for an incoming superintendent will be a match for PAUSD?”
Consultants Michael Caston and Rene Townsend, Leadership Associates, were selected to advise the Board in this search. They will be in Palo Alto on March 12 and March 13, 2007.
Input from members of the community (parents, employees, and others interested in our district) is valuable to the process. People may meet as individuals, in small groups, or in an Open Forum. Input may also be offered by fax, letter, or email; direct telephone conversations may also be arranged.
You may attend and participate in an Open Forum (no appointment is necessary) where you may express your thoughts and where the process will be explained. These (two) Open Forums will be held on March 12 and March 13 as noted below.
- MARCH 12 – 6:00 p.m. – Gunn High School Library, 780 Arastradero Road
- MARCH 13 – 4:30 p.m. – Palo Alto High School Library, 50 Embarcadero Road
A limited number of individual and small group appointments also will be available at the district office (25 Churchill, Palo Alto). To arrange an appointment on March 12 or 13, please contact Kathleen Ruegsegger at 650.329.3737. You may also email your comments to searchfirm@pausd.org.
