PALO ALTO, CA – Superintendents and school board members from Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District (MVLAUHSD), Los Altos School District (LASD), and Palo Alto Unified School District (PAUSD) met today to discuss concerns that all three communities have regarding the Los Altos Hills Town Council’s effort to form a new K-8 school district in Los Altos Hills (LAH).  LASD Superintendent Tim Justus reported to the group, “LASD has committed to reopening Bullis School in 2008 as a neighborhood public elementary school in Los Altos Hills.”

The three districts agree that LAH students are currently receiving an excellent education, and many LAH residents are concerned about disrupting existing district boundaries.  The group is preparing for the December 7, 2006, public hearing of the Santa Clara County Committee on School Organization.
